Welcome Messages

Greet new posters automatically with a custom message when they create a forum thread.

What are Welcome Messages?

Welcome Messages are sent automatically when a new post is created in a forum channel. They appear as a reply in the thread, welcoming the poster and providing any information you want to share.

Enabling Welcome Messages

Go to the Welcome tab and toggle on "Send welcome message". Select which forum channels should have welcome messages, or apply it to all managed forums.

Customizing the Message

Write your welcome message in the text box. You can use placeholders like {user} to mention the post author, and {title} to include the post title. Standard Discord Markdown formatting is supported.

Available Placeholders

Use {user} to mention the post author, {title} for the post title, and {channel} for the forum channel name. These are replaced with real values when the message is sent.

Welcome Message Delay

You can set a delay (in seconds) before the welcome message is sent. This prevents the message from appearing before the post has fully loaded for other members — a delay of 2-5 seconds is usually ideal.

Required Permissions

Forum Crown needs "Send Messages" and "Send Messages in Threads" permissions in the forum channel. Without these, welcome messages will silently fail to send.
