Greet new posters automatically with a custom message when they create a forum thread.
Welcome Messages are sent automatically as a reply in the thread when a new post is created in a forum channel. They can greet the poster, share rules, direct them to resources, or provide any information you want new posters to see.
Go to the Welcome tab, select a forum channel, write your message, and save. Each forum channel can have its own unique welcome message, or you can configure several forums with the same message.
Free servers can configure Welcome Messages for 1 forum channel. Boost Premium allows up to 3 forums. Paid Premium allows up to 20 forums with welcome messages.
Use these placeholders in your message and they'll be replaced automatically: {user} — mentions the post author. {username} — inserts their name without a mention. {forum} — the forum channel name. {thread_name} — the title of the new thread. {server} — your server name. {user_count} — total member count. {thread_count} — number of threads in the forum. {created_at} — date the thread was created.
Example: "Hey {user}, thanks for posting in {forum}! Your thread '{thread_name}' is now live."
Standard Discord formatting works in welcome messages: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, > blockquote, and hyperlinks. You can also use emoji.
Forum Crown needs "Send Messages" and "Send Messages in Threads" permissions in the forum channel. Without these, welcome messages will silently fail to send.
