Automod

Automatically moderate forum posts with a full suite of rules — pinning, length limits, duplicate detection, bump reminders, auto-locking, and more.

What is Automod?

Automod is a per-forum moderation engine. Each forum channel can have its own independent set of rules. Automod runs the moment a new thread is created and enforces your configured rules automatically.

Setting Up Automod

Go to the Automod tab and select a forum channel from the dropdown. Configure the rules you want for that forum and click Save. Repeat for each forum channel you want to moderate.

💡

Configured forums are shown as quick-select buttons at the top so you can switch between them easily.

Auto-Pin First Message

When enabled, Forum Crown automatically pins the opening post of every new thread. This is useful for keeping important context visible at the top of long threads.

Block Duplicate Titles

Prevents new threads from being created if an existing open thread in the same forum already has the exact same title. The duplicate thread is deleted and the author is notified.

Require Attachment on Posts

Forces every new thread to include at least one image or file. Threads posted without an attachment are automatically deleted. Great for art galleries, bug report forums, or media-focused channels.

Min / Max Post Length

Set a minimum and/or maximum character count for thread bodies. Posts that are too short or too long are automatically deleted, and the author receives a DM explaining the requirement.

Max Threads Per User

Limit how many open threads a single user can have at the same time in a forum. Once they hit the limit, new threads from that user are blocked until an existing one is closed or archived.

Slowmode (seconds)

Automatically applies a slowmode delay (in seconds) to every new thread created in the forum. This limits how quickly members can post replies inside threads.

Lock After (days)

Automatically locks and archives a thread after a set number of days of inactivity, preventing any further replies. Forum Crown checks for inactive threads every hour. When a thread is locked, a message is posted inside it to let the author know.

💡

Set "Bump Reminder" to a lower value than "Lock After" so authors get a heads-up before the thread closes.

Bump Reminder (days)

After a thread has been inactive for the configured number of days, Forum Crown posts a reminder message inside the thread and DMs the thread author. The reminder fires at most once every 24 hours per thread.

Title Rename Prefix

Automatically prepends a prefix to the title of every new thread in that forum. For example, enter "[Open]" to tag all new threads as open at a glance. The prefix is applied when the thread is created.

Auto-Lock Message

A custom message sent inside a thread when it is auto-locked by Forum Crown due to inactivity. Leave this blank to use the default embed. Use it to direct members to open a new thread or contact a moderator.

Staff Role Bypass

Members with Staff Roles configured in the Staff Roles tab bypass all Automod checks. This ensures moderators and trusted members are never accidentally affected by these rules.
